My computer plays anything comin out of real player but It wouldn't play any sound comin out from the internet

Question

so I can't use my mic on skype or messenger either hear people talking, but any other sound from CDs or midia players would work out fine, does any one know what it could be?

have u checked ur volumesettings? r u using windows? if yes click on the volume icon in the taskbar and open its properties then check the settings for recording and if mic etc r turned on and if the regulator is set high or not, that should fix it
