Killing is prima fecia (sometimes) morally impermissible. In the case, for example, of terri shaivo, the doctors performed what is called non-voluntary euthanasia. Meaning that is was impossible to get consent from the patient.
This question goes deeper into the question, is killing worse than letting die, is letting die worse than killing, or are they equally wrong? Well,I argue that there the same and ill provide an example. Smith has a 6 year old brother, and smith will profit through inheritance if his brother dies. So one day smith goes into the bathroom when his brother is in the tub, and drowns his brother. Jones, also has a brother and Jones also will profit from the brothers death. One day Jones walks into the bathroom and sees his brother in the tub. But just then the brother slips, hits his head on the tub, and falls back into the tub. Jones could easily resusitate his brother, but remembering the profit, he stands there and lets the brother die. Now, others would like to argue that smith, had previous intent on killing his brother, while Jones didn't have intent to kill. I disagree and think that Jones also planned to kill, just not in advance as smith had. Jones had a plan to let his brother die as soon as he saw the brother fall. But this goes back to your question, would it be worse to kill someone who is half dead, or let them die. It seams to be that there both wrong, except for cases where they only will live for matter of weeks and those weeks will be very painful for the patient. It's a lot to think about.
P.S. I can't kill anyway, I'm buddhist

I dont know what u mean.Half dead physically or emotionaly. If physically half dead ,well iwould never think about killing even if it is suffering, because there is no such thing as half dead either something is dead or alive.moreover ur not specific abt thing . What do u mean animal or insect orhuman?AS for aemotionaly dead person well it is a difficult job.Tring to revive a person whose concepts of right and wrong are dead,I would never try.But a person whose heart is broken by somebody ,Iwould certainly help to revive.

Sometimes it's only the humane thing to do. Being dead is often times better off than remaining in a painful half-dead state.
If the creature can be attended to in a painless way, then great. But if it can't, I say end its misery in as humane a way as possible.

Putting pets out of their misery, is understandable. They are suffering; so why not people? We have a mind, that can think for itself. I believe that if someone, say...with cancer, or something uncureable...is suffering, and has told everyone, I want to go...why not let them go in a dignified way? It's the families that can't give up, they aren't the ones in pain! Like Terry Savo, a while back. she was brain dead, and the only ones who wouldn't give up were Mom and Dad, so they raised holy hell to keep her on life support, and for what? She wasn't going to get up and say "Thanks, Mom and Dad", she was just going to lay there and slowly rot. Now, I'm not talking about people who have a chance, and are just depressed, or healthy people who have just given up...but, why not...really, women who are pregnant have a right to kill unborn babies who can't speak for themselves, why can't adult humans in their right mind, choose the right to die?

depends on what these things are. For example, if an insect is half dead I usually kill it to end its suffering. But, I couldn't bring myself to kill anything that is bigger than an insect.

Is it in pain! I know at the age of 40 most people are half dead. Should we kill them! Question is pretty vague if you ask me!

If the thing is a human being, it should not be killed but healed if possible and if not possible, made comfortable until the natural end of life comes.

ONLY if it is to *humanely* stop an animal's suffering, for example, a dog in its last stages of cancer or kidney failure, or a wild animal that has been too mangled by a car to recover and lead a good life.
