Sound like you are running out of space. What you should do is return your DVD burner, for a multi purpose burner on that will burn both DVD's and CD's, then dump your CD burner and get a DVD/CD player for your PC. If you don't want to go through all that you should be able to piggy back your new burner off of one of your other players.

Step 1: First determine if you have any open slots on you current IDE cables. Sounds like your secondary cable (the one for your dvd and cdrw drives) is full, but if you only have one hard drive then you'll have an open slot on that cable. If your hard drive is SATA or ATA then check your motherboard to see how many IDE cable interfaces it came with. Most have 2 and they're usually right next to each other, but don't confuse the floppy disk controller (if you even have one) with your IDE controllers. (The FD controller is smaller).

Step 2: If you're all maxed out of IDE controllers on your motherboard, you can install another one using an available PCI slot.

If none of these steps solves your problem, why not just simply remove your current DVD player and replace it with your DVD burner? That way you can use both IDE cable and the audio cable that's already installed.

It is possible to add a third drive but i think your heading for problems heat wise. i would removed cdrw & put the dvd burner there because the dvd burner can do all what the cdrw can & burn DVD's.

Take out cdrw because your dvd burner can do both. place your new dvd burner instead and attach the cables the same way you have em for cdrw.
good luck

Check you motherboard, does your motherboard has two IDEs, if yes, you just need to purchase one extra IDE cable (cost like 4-5 dollars).

FOR IDE CONNECTION, MAXIMUM CAN PUT UP 2 DRIVE.
IF YOU WAN, YOU MUST SET THE DVD DRIVE TO MASTER, AND THE CDRW TO SLAVE.
