I lived in the San Fran area for a significant period of time.

There are loads of jobs there. I suggest accessing two newspapers to see for yourself. The San Francisco Chron and the San Jose Mercury News. I included San Jose because there are probably more positions available in that general area than San Francisco.

A lot depends on what you can do. Of course, the area needs people in all sorts of professions but those in greates demand are in fields associated with:

Software development
Computer Sytems
Datat Base Mgt
Information Technology in general
Financial analysis
Investment banking
Venture capital related
Administrative assistants

As someone mentioned it is very expensive to live in this area. Dependent on what you do you may have a long commute so that you can find housing that matches your ability to pay.

Good luck

there are tons of jobs here! it's a very booming city, but your job search success will depend a lot on what field you are looking to work in. craigslist (see link below) is a great resource for everything you might want here (jobs, apartments, furniture, etc).

What are your skills? What can you afford for a monthly rent? Do you have a resume? Something to think about? Best to you.
