It is due to President Clinton inaction that we are in the situation we are in now. Have you forgotten the 1st terror attack on the World Trade Center in New York? How about the attack on the Cole? How about other attacks during Clinton Administration? Due to his inaction, and charming ways with the Muslim terrorist loving UN people, President Bush has inherited a very dangerous situation that culminated in the 9/11 terror attack.

If you don't know, the 9/11 terror attack was years in the planning. Yes, contrary to the nonesense the liberals have spewed, President Bush had nothing to do with this attack. While President Clinton avoided military confrontation, and allowed the terrorist cells to grow and get stronger, President Bush had the courage to deal with this dangerous situation head on. None of us wanted war, but waiting longer would have made the situation even worse down the road. War on terrorism had to be waged, and I am glad that President Bush did it. If only President Clinton had done it when the situation was easier, we would not be posting here right now about this topic.

Even though I don't agree with everything President Bush has done, he and his administration have done an incredible job in light of the terror and natural disasters the U.S. has been through since 2001. The economy was already in a recessionary mode in the last year of Clinton's Administration, and President Bush has helped the U.S. come out of recession fears into a growing economy.

The biggest problem this administration has is the lack of Public Relations, and talking about its accomplishments and the situation we are facing. While President Clinton could sell ice to the Eskimos, President Bush can't seem to sell baguettes to the French. President Bush is not the master orator and charmer that Clinton is. That is the Bush Administration biggest issue, and unfortunately, perception is what the people understand as reality, despite of actual reality. That is why you see the terroist groups using their own media outlets to make up people's mind through perception, at any cost, with any lie. Unfortunate, but true.

Harry S Truman. But we'd have to clone him.

Bill Clinton was lucky nothing much happened during his time in office. All three terrorist attacks on America were minor. He vowed to "bring those responsible to justice". But he botched the chance to catch Bin Laden on his way to Afghanistan. The Ecomony was riding a speculative boom that was busting at the end of his term. And he had a big zipper problem not to mention an ego the size of China. He gets a lot of credit for a balanced budget but the President only proposes a budget. Congress changes it and sends it back for the Presidents signature or veto. Congress actually sets the budget. Like I said Clinton had it easy.

If the choices are Clinton and George H.W. Bush, definitely Clinton.
Daddy Bush was a below-average President, but to quote Howard Dean the guy at least TRIED to do a good job.
The current occupant of the White House is certainly the worst since Harding and even that comparison is up for debate.
Since Franklin D. Roosevelt, the greatest President of the electric era, is no longer with us, I would like to see James Earl Carter in the seat with every living Democratic Presidential nominee in my lifetime (McGovern, Mondale, Dukakis, Gore and Kerry) in his Cabinet.

clinton, so what if he's a lying cheating asshole? George Bush is too! But at least when Clinton was around I could afford to drive my car and I didn't have to worry about bombs on planes!

I'm a republican, I can't believe there would ever be a day that I'd choose a democrat...but W just plain sucks!

Man that's a no-brainer unless you are a fanatical neo-conservative. I'd take clinton just for the fact that he knew how to balance a budget.

A.Marie said it pretty good. I'm also a republican, but chances are I'm going to vote Dem this time just because of this mess. One other note I have to add...I love how people like to try and say that people inherited someone elses mess. Well you know what? The Federal Deficit was at 0 when Bush came into office. Just thought I would pass that along.

A good choice would be to have a president who is able to check what is going on in the world. They especially now have to have an understanding of the different cultures in the world. The interests of the US must be combined with freedom and peace in the world.
I think John F. Kennedy would be a good choice. He had the feeling and the intelligence for his country and its moral connection to others.

FDR--he was the architect of most of the social systems we rely on today for helping the poor, like social security. He also handled that WWII thing okay.

But if your question is only Clinton or Bush the elder, I'd prefer Clinton, although I'd take either one of them over this dude.

Bill Clinton. I think Hilary should step aside as a candidate, not because she unqualified, but because Bill has a much better chance of winning.

But he does need to learn to answer questions in a forthright manner, as in: "Yes, like 30 percent of the other members of my generation, I inhaled. Deeply."
