His frozen faced mother is here for a while but she is a strict teetotaller. We have a good home booze up in the evenings but I feel her eyes boring, boring into me. Should I inject her tangerines with gin?

See her as a blessing in disguise, maybe. If you doing that in the evenings, which implies pretty much every evening, it makes me wonder whether her being a teetotaller is accurate, or just compared to you. If you feel judged without her addressing the issue directly with you, maybe there is a problem you need to deal with. If you feel self-conscious, there may be something to it. I am not using a present tense as I don't know the whole situation, but think about it.

Yours is a dangerous trait!!! If your man talks about your mom in this way, will you tolerate?Understand that you will also become a "in-law" sometime late!!! I thik it is total hate! Its she who brought up your nice man and unless she was nice, your man would not have been so. Just because she is a teetotaller, she is not bad. When your eyes are red with booze, naturally you will think that the parent is "boring" you, which also is not her fault. Be considerate, you are also a woman Show that consideration atleast!!!

Yes definitely. That is brilliant.

Also - inject vodka into cherry tomatoes.

Did this once for a cocktail party and they worked a treat - like a mini bloody mary; but yours is a much better application!

I had a mean in-law once. Now she is my friend. she comes to my house and we chit chat and shop together sometimes. When she acts up I usually keep my cool. Out of respect for my fiance, I kept my cool. I cried sometimes but I managed and see it pays off now. So let her be mean, she will probably end up sorry & ashamed when she realize that you are a good person.

Why not lay off the booze until she goes home, just out of respect?

No best to just leave it alone. Wait till she goes to sleep or just put it on hold till the old bag leaves!
