The last time i had unprotexcted sex was over 2 weeks ago. my period is almost a week late. i tested when it was 3 days late and it came back negative. i used first response early because a friend of mine recomended it to me. Im going to test agian when I am 9 or 10 days late to see if anything has changed. It doesnt feel like im pregnant. my boobs arent sore, i have more energy.... but i have trouble sleeping now. just my period isnt showing up. how accurate would the test be when i redo it? if it does indeed say negative, should i assume that i am not pregnat or should i test again? has anyone gotten a false negative when their period was almost 2 weeks late? has anyone been pregnant and had no symptoms whatso ever other than a missed period?

I would do another one, this time use one from Planned Parenthood, or a doc they are waaay more accurate. You can't necessarily "feel pregnant". If you are ever more than a week late and have hjad unprotected sex you shoudl get tested a week into the period you missed.

It is very hard for a pregnancy test to come back false negative. If it detects a pregnancy hormone, it will show it. I would wait one more week, then take it again. As far as you not feeling pregnant...well some women never do. You don't begin to see pregnancy symptoms until after the first month in most cases. You are probably not sleeping because you are stressed out from wondering if your expecting or not. Just relax. If you are pregnant, you will soon know. The best way to find out as soon as possible is to go to the doc and get a blood test. Good luck to you!

Having spent some time in OB, I know that though they are 99.9% effective, there is always that 0.1 chance that they may not be. This being said, check yourself again. I hope that you knew the person (no judgment here, just asking). Should that have been a one-night stand, get tested in about 1.5-2 months, and then again 3 months after that.
About your last question, there have been cases where while being pregnant, the expecting mother still had her periods. It is extremely rare, but it happens. I know of a couple of incidents when 2 women had terrible cramps, never saw a OB/GYN, and ended up delivering babies, not knowing they were pregnant. Those cases are extremely rare. Both had put on a mere 12-15 pounds, and had no nausea... One had a great pregnancy, and great baby, while the other one's baby was healthy too, but she smoked like a chimney all trough her pregnancy. The latter was in 1966 while the former was in 1998

I know a lot of women who had unprotected sex, then late periods. Would test for pregnancy with negative readings. Stress is a great way to miss or have a late period, and worrying about maybe being pregnant could make you late. If you are still late after 3 weeks and still getting negative readings see your Doctor

There's is still a chance! if the next test you take says negative i would still retest it or go to the doctor. Just because you don't have any symptoms of pregnancy doesn't really mean you're are not pregnant. If you have missed your period that is one of the first signs of pregnancy. And you should still go to the doctor anyway because you should find out what exactly is holding up your period. There are plenty of women you still have periods when they're pregnant so if that can happen then I'm sure that anything can happen.

both times i've been prego i didn't know until i took a test on a whim i was almost 3 months pregnant with both i haven't had morning sickness or heartburn or anything with either so if it comes up negative, it may still be too early try testing again in another week it takes at least 3 or 4 weeks to detect the hormone im pretty sure but just keep trying and take it in the morning thats the best time

I didn't find out that I was pregnant until I was 2 mts. My period was always irregular because I stress so much and I didn't have any syptoms. Sometimes I wouldn't even have a period. Maybe you're stressing. My sister did take a test and it came back negative, but she was really 3 weeks pregnant. She went to a doctor or clinic or something. Maybe you should go too!

If you are really unsure and want to know what is going on why don't you just go to the doctor. There are clinics that do free pregnancy testing. My question is do you want to get pregnant?

As an advice for you and your bf: after unprotected sex, if you're late, try red wine with aspirin to force your period.
That's if you don't want to get pregnant.
