Party food doesn't have to be expensive.
At 2 years old most children want simple finger food like pizza or chicken nuggets etc.
Buy little and often adding a few things into your normal shopping budget and before you know it, you will have enough food to feed a small army.

Keep the children entertained and specify an eating time. You will find that at 2 most children are too exited to eat anyway and most will only eat a little bit because you would have more games lined up for afterwards and they will be wanting to get back to the fun.

Ice-cream can be expensive and very messy especially this time of year, so I would opt for Jelly and ice-cream. The children will HAVE to sit to eat this and it is more filling than just the ice-cream.

Good luck.

I am having a Birthday party this weekend for my Granddaughter. It starts at 2:00pm. So, I wondered the same thing. I decided to of course have cake and ice cream. I'm also going to have chips ands dip, and peanuts just as a snack. Most of the snack stuff you can get at your local Dollar store. I hope this helps you in making a decision. Good Luck!

If that is all you can afford do that.

You can also get some paper have have everyone draw a picture to take home.

If you have some baby food jars. Get some netting, potpourri and string and have everyone make a baby food jar potpourri to take home.

As an American, I would be insulted if you didn't offer the traditional British snack, tea and those little cookies. Or are they crackers? Other than that, your fine. No problem for a two o'clocker.

if you want...add fruit...like grapes and strawberries and apple slices dipped in lemon juice
no pizza, etc...the time is perfect for cake and ice cream and fruit for those sworn off sweets

Fruit punch and that's enough ... be sure to ask parents if their kid can have these things because they could have special dietary restrictions
