Gay people used to be burned alive. The term f-a-g-g-o-t meant bundle of sticks. therefore, throw a bundle of sticks (or a gay guy) into the fire.
Therefore, they also called them flamers, flaming homosexual, flaming, etc.
That is 100% not BS either, look it up.

Well this is going to sound rude but this is why....
Gays are commonly known as *******, Right....
Well a F@g or F@ggot is ACTUALLY a bunch of tiny twigs or sticks in a bundle... Well people back in the day would gather ******* & use them for fuel in their stoves, fireplaces, campfires then add nice big logs or to keep their fire started...ect...
Well naturally you light your ******* or sticks, to start your fire & ******* would catch fire easily & quickly produce flames easily & last only long enough to get your bigger logs burning...
That is how the term flaming ******* got started.
Why gays are called ******* I'm not quite sure... maybe cuz the majority are skinny guys & group together in a bunch & are flamboiant??? your guess is as good as mine. Maybe it is cuz the only last long enough to Pi$$ us Logs off & light a fire under our @$$! LOL.

They "burn brightly" as they go through life, providing humor, fun, a show, comedy, and absurditiy. IF it were not for 'flamers,' gay rights would still be in the toilet. As it is, we have made great inroads into society...thank all drag queens who started the revolution at "Stonewall" in NYC with a riot brougth on by the NYCPD. Good luck

"Flaming" does not necessarily refer to their charisma - it refers to the fact that it is blatantly obvious by their behavior, dress, and mannerisms that they are gay. As to why they are called "flaming" it probably has to do with how passionate they are for simply being gay, but ultimately I do not know the origin of this term in regards to this application of the word (although I'd love to know!). It may refer to the fact that they are as obvious as a "torch in the night", and thus the term "flaming".
