Well, depends on the kind of tree...how high...where it's located...stuff like that. LOL. But yer, well....they could.
The same goes for if a Tree falls in the Forest....

Perhaps the women in your story will complain because they need the wood for making a fire, cooking for your tribe, keeping the children warm or they want a new fitted kitchen in your cave.
