you not said, what OS u are using anyway.
if u are using win 98, winme, 2000, xp u can easily format your c drive without losing data in other drive. all Windows OS cds are coming with bootable cds u can boot ur computer with these cd and format your computer. but first goto ur system setup by
pressing del key or f1 or f2 goto boot menu change first boot to cdrom/dvdrom and second boot from c: thrid from floppy and save and exit the system setup
insert the bootable cd in your cd/dvdrom
system 'll boot from cd. in win98 and winme you can directly go to command prompt after booting from cd and type format c:
in win 2000 /xp follow the instructions on screen after booting from cd and format ony c drive in ntfs or fat32, don't change your partition.

Assuming your operating system is on your C drive. You need to make a boot disk. You need to include the format command on the boot disk. Boot your computer with the disk in the floppy drive and format the C drive once the system comes up.

boot your computer with a bootable floppy or cdrom.. in the dos mode type in command
format c:
if you want to make the drive bootable as well
