I don't think so.
trainers are meant to wear out after a couple of years so that they can still support your foot properly when you are exercising. the shop are unlikely to give you your money back.
if you are really desperate you could write to head office? (enclose the shoes and list the damage)

If you even have the receipt still, check that for a return policy. I doubt 2 years is within their staute of liability. You are better off writing to the manufacturer of the trainer to see if they care. It really sucks that this happened, but you've learned your lesson now.

If damaged, then probably no. You'd have to look at the receipt (if you have it) and the store's policies about taking stuff back. That's really only something that the store itself can answer 'cause if they have a 30-day return policy, then you'll have to go by that, so just contact the store, and ask them about their return policy.

Yes, you can take them back to the shop at any time but don't expect the shop to do anything about them

I would be so mad if you returned them to my store. Why didn't you bring them back sooner? They probably don't even sell the same kind anymore. And who would want to buy them? They are your problem now. I doubt any retailer in their right mind would take them back.

If it is Marks& Spancer you can try, but I don't know if 2 years is not too long.

Certainly take them back. You will be made very welcome by the staff who will be very happy to see you. Don't hesitate to explain the situation in a very loud and aggressive manner - they really enjoy that, it makes their day.
