I waited 3 hours in line for a security check yesterday, along with about 1000 other people (all in one massive part of the airport I was in). If I was a terrorist, this would have been the perfect opportunity: many people all in one place, no security check while you're waiting. I think the US government has, once again, endangered us more than they have protected us.

We have a habit of protecting against the LAST threat, not the threat to come.

After 9/11 it was box cutters and screw drivers. While we were fotzing around with old womens' purses, along comes the shoe bomber. So now we're taking off everyones' shoes and the threat is liquids. While we're making people throw away shampoos and cosmetics and water bottles, they'll surely come at us with a completely different tactic.

Ultimately, all carry-on baggage will be banned and all pockets will be emptied. It will be the ONLY way to insure all flights are safe. And then we'll turn around and say that if we let the terrorists alter the way we live our lives, then they will have won.

Look around. If that's the criteria, they've already won.

U.S. government is ovezealous and ironic. Terrorists now think civilised society conceded defeat . Americans now have to travel near naked..This is a brief victory to terrorists.

It's not the fault of security that you were "inconvenienced". If you are going to gripe you should be griping at the muslim terrorists.

Well what would another option be? To not thoroughly check baggage?
