see i don't think it's true 'coz here in india we have 2 holidays in aug. 1st is of 'raksha bandhan' &2nd is of 'janamashtami'.So cheer up..............................
i just want 2 tell Habbo which gave her ans that 15thaug is a holiday. 4 ur kind knowledge let me tell u that on that day it is not a holiday but compulsury 2 attend the hoisting of the national flag

In the UK we have a long bank holiday at the end of the month BUT I would guess that there are no other holidays because it is the height of summer and everyone goes on holiday anyway.

August 7 is a civic Holiday. Not usually celebrated but it is there.

Because it has not made the national holiday list ,don,t know why. Our daughter birthday August 1, followed by my son,daughter-in-law and mine on 14, and school starts which most people celebrated by going out. And one of the biggest months to shop for back-to-school items. Maybe I need to contact Hall-Mart!!!!!

In Canada, the first Monday in August is called "Civic" holiday. I think it was invented so that every month of our short Canadian summers has a long weekend.

because half the other holidays were made up by hallmark to get money... you just wait there will be one for august soon! By the way the Civic Holiday for Canada is in Aug.

There is a local kind of holiday where I live, in August, in America. Can't tell you the name, because that would give away where I live.

August does have a holiday! The first day of school. The day all parents look upon as a release date from their summer imprisonment with the children they supervised the entire summer.

Well the question is wrong because Pakistan & India use to have holidays in this month that are because of independence days
Pak independence day is at 14 Aug & India's is at 15 Aug

Because it is usually back to school month. This is a holiday for the children. New cloths and school items.
