I would be both outraged and surprised. Outraged, because the only reason to protect the USA or the UK is because of our civil liberties. If we destroy those liberties there is nothing left worth protecting. And surprised because contrary to what you see on the TV, torture doesn't provide good reliable information. It is generally counterproductive. Our interrorgators have much better methods for interrogating suspects without using torture.

Don't worry, it wasn't.

If your mother was on the plane they were going to take down, would you care HOW they found out about the plot? The British officials didn't make this up. These terrorists were actually planning to kill as many people as possible, and cause mass panic among the rest of the Western world. Just be glad they caught them.

Everyone gets so uptight about people's "rights". People do NOT have a right to privacy, or anything else, when they are interfering with everyone else's right to LIFE. You don't see people in jail for offenses a jury of their peers convicted them of, complaining that the government is violating their right to freedom. You give up your own rights when you violate the rights of others.

properly the element you are able to remember is that persons permit you to comprehend something while they're being tortured. i'm useful some might admit to being Osama Bin encumbered himself. What they could have achieved is probably given them drugs and then interrogated them. There are greater interrogation techniques that are used that achieved contain torture. The police use them each and all of the time. as long as we proceed applying torture, which will provide the terrorists each and all of the reason greater to recruit new individuals.

That's a good question...you have to decide if the end justifies the means...do one or two people suffer to save the lives of countless others?...let's put the question in another context...would torturing a rapist, or paedophile, be justified, if the information gained saved countless woman from being raped, and countless children from being sexually abused and /or murdered? for me...every time.

I would be surprised to learn that's how it happened. Some people watch too many war movies. Valid information is rarely obtained through torture.

Yeah the probably made someone stand in the corner or do push ups. How does a question like this even get interjected into this story. Is it paranoia or wishful thinking.

Absolutely NOT! Terrorists are playing outside the rules of decency, and view our decent values and morals as weaknesses, and weapons to be used against us. One coward squealing in pain is worth it if it saves innocent lives.

no way.
but then again, i think we should have wiped out the women and children first. the muslim men won't have sex with anyone other than muslim women. the children are being brought up to do the same as their parents. by killing the women and children first we would have wiped out most of the problem.
all is fair in love and WAR.

and it would have sent a message to anyone else who wanted to hurt us. i know muslims live all over the world. i have muslim family members, also, but , that's not my problem.
