If my buddy isn't married, I'd rather see them as a virgin because I know what a blessing it is to wait for marriage. But even if they are not it doesn't change how I feel about them.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you mean...
But some people just can't stand the thought of physical intimacy- for that reason, thinking of their friend as a virgin may make it easier to talk to them.
Others might just not want to think about their friends having sex, like they don't want to think about their family members having sex.
It depends on the people and the relationship they have, I guess.
