There is no such thing as the perfect place to live, there are good and bad things everywhere you go and even the places that seem ideal don't stay that way for long once word gets out and every man and his dog move there for a better life.
Your situation is what you make of it, no matter where you are in the world! Besides no matter how much you moan about the UK bet you moan even more when you go abroad and no one speaks English and you can't get pie and chips everywhere!
I have lived in Spain for five years now and it really annoys me when I meet "Brits abroad" who have moved here to get away from the UK, they do nothing to integrate themselves into the local culture, make no effort to learn the language and live as though they were in Britain and they spend just as much time moaning about everything as they used to in the UK!!!

I've been thinking exactly that for some years now. Unfortunately the small problem of finance always comes into the equation and having a 20yo and 16yo still at home, a mortgage and Visa card, I've never quite managed to take a next step!
I'd love to live somewhere pleasantly warmer all year round, to have a relaxed lifestyle which preferably means not much in the way of a job and possibly even not having to bother with clothing. I guess that puts me somewhere on a Greek Island - the Florida Keys would be nice but there's always the tropical storms and such to think about there!

No why should we leave our homeland? Why hsould we let the Islamofascists chase us out!? If native Brits leave the UK we just leave it to the Islamofascists and they get one step closer to turning it into their "islamic state" they keep threatening us with. Then when they've routed us out from Britain they'll come after us in other countries as well so the whole world becomes one big islamic state with anyone who is not a muslim being a "dhimmi" (allowed to live only if they pay protection money.)
Does that sound good to you? Thought not.
People say the values and standard of life has gone downhill here but is Aus or American any better? I really doubt it.
Get a backbone and stand up for your homeland and your ancestry!!!! Why did all those men and women fight WWII? To keep this country free. Did they die in vain? Don't let their sacrifice be for nothing.

It's not whether we should be leaving the UK, but about time we all stopped being wimps and stood up for what we believe in our own country, rather than letting everyone and his dog ride roughshod all over us, and then start whining about a situation that has been caused by our own stupidity. Why the hell should we be thinking about leaving, it's about time we reclaimed back what is OURS! Anyone else is welcome, BUT they abide by our rules, our culture. We will respect theirs, but don't expect us to make change so that they can "feel at home".

Well, considering you're not allowed to take anything on a plane with you at the moment, now would be a pretty bad time. ;o)
I think I would probably go to somewhere like Norway. Which is bizarre since my ancestors came from there a 1000 years ago!

indeed have infact started looking further into it... imagration laws etc. Am thinking about Australia or USA as thereseems to be a better lifestyle and job prospects.
A friend of mine moved to oz and had her own house built for the equivelent of £80,000 it has 4 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, games room, swimming pool and sauna.
It also came with land sourounding it, i dont think u will find that in the U.K. for that sort of money.
Check out my questions for the answers i got to similar queries and you will find details on imagration sites etc.
Do bear in mind that wherever you go there will be bad points but as long as the good outways the bad then i say go for it........
By the way if you do let me know and we will go for a beer in Melbourne or a Whisky in New York ..... Good Luck !

The British complain about foreigners coming into this country so it would probably feel the same to the people of what ever country you move to.I have friends in the US and AUS and that's exactly what they told me.I understand what your saying but i think myself personally prefer to stay in the UK.
