Well there is 2 options for ur case:
1. EASY way is to download from the internet Hiren Boot CD and then burn it onto a blank CD . Then boot the laptop from this CD and there are there some nice RECOVERY software tools.
2. HARD way is to remove the laptop hard drive and put it into a external USB rack , then connect the rack to a PC and recover data from hard drive. If you wanna know more.....
Feel free to contact me on yahoo messenger for more details.

If you are able to get to the command prompt, then you personal information is still intact the only problem is the operating system.
When the computer starts press F8 a menu should come up,
you should try 2 options, start windows from last good known configuration and if does not work then select safe mode.
if the 1st option works then you computer if fixed, if not the 2nd will allow you to go in to your computer in safe mode and then back up all information that you don't want to lose and after that grab the windows CD and reinstall the operation system and preform a format of the hard drive and the the installation, do no try to reinstall an operating system before backing up because you will loose you personal data.
Hope it helps

We the surfers of cyber world meet with so many people every day. Surfing the net is the best pastime one can ever develop, as internet has the most knowledge, a surfer will never have to wait for a answer. The vast knowledge of cyber world is nothing as compared to the cyber society that it gives. Internet is a community but so vast that we need a place to make conversation easy. What more can be better than a chat room for this purpose, well a chat room and a message board along with a forum is the best combination really. I was actually looking for a place where we can find all these things with a profile and photo brouse option. Finally I got this site, this place is a very nice community where we can share every thing online. And also about the leader board, I must tell it is great. The thought of the leader board is unique, as not to many people has thought about this thing. And the method of getting the leader is very different and one must check out this site once. The cyber culture is growing, and it is about time that we find our club and that to a very different club, which is not a part of any big website house like the yahoo and google. This site am talking about has every thing that a cyber surfer ever wants. This is the website address, http://www.friendscyberclub.com/ Features of this site is: 1) chatting 2) view profiles and photos 3) upload your photos and make a cool profile. 4) your message board 5) forum 6) See your name on the leader board. There are also many more features available in the site, free to join.

You can get an adapter and hook it up to another comptuer and recover data you need and then use the restoration disks to restore the laptop. You could also try doing a repair install of Windows. The data is still there, it just will not boot.

If you made a Rescue or Recovery disk when you first bought the computer then insert that and it should boot up into Safe mode.
However if you have a later version without a floppy drive I would suggest you switch on and repeatedly press the Delete Key. This sometimes gets you into the BIOS setup which may help.

Enter
DIR /S /P
at the prompt. This will list all the files on your PC, including subdirectories, pausing after every full screen (you just press any key to go to the next screen). If the files are still there, just re-install Windows (from a CD). If not, your best bet would be to contact a data recovery specialist.

This has happened to me... usually a data recovery specialist is your best bet. If your laptop is still under warranty, the company may incur the cost if you send the hard drive to them. They could not, however, save my data, so the problem is not always fixable. Sorry!

Remove the hard drive and hook it up to a pc using a usb to ide adapter. If the disk is corrupted you may still be able to recover data with File Scavenger

Maybe see if you can boot the laptop in safe mode, if it lets you do that then you can remove the last update and the laptop will be back to normal. Good Luck

Take it to a computer specialty shop or the Geek squad at Best Buy an dtell them you would like to try to salvage your hard drive. You will need to buy an external hard drive or new computer to put this information on though.
