Firstly you have to decide if you want to pronounce Araceae (arum lily family) or Arecaceae (palm family) ...
Pronunciation varies depending on what part of the world you live in (because people tend to give letters the sound they expect in their own language) and on how the last part (-aceae the indicator that we are taling about a family name)
Araceae -- I have heard this pronounced ar-A-see, air-A-see, air-a-see-e
Arecaceae -- a-rec-A-see or a-rec-A-see-e
The small 'a' is the short 'a' sound and the capital 'A' is the long 'A' sound.
