My 79 Blazer is vibrating and shakeing like as if a U-joint has broke, however this is not the case, all five U-joints, 3 in front and 2 in rear are intact. Yokes are lined up too.

Is there sumthin else that could be causeing this?

Out of curiosity, would mud in a tire cause this also?

Your tie rod end could be broken, your axle could be broken or bent, your tires could be out of balance, or your bearings could be shot. Check your rims and make sure no lugs are broken, either. I'm sure there are many other things, but I would check these first.

Try to pinpoint at what speeds you feel the vibration, and if there is a noise along with it. If you can figure out which tire the vibration is coming from, take it off and see if there is anything visible.

When in doubt, you can take it into a shop and have it looked at. They are required to give you a quote before they perform service, and you can alway opt not to have them do the work if you can't afford it.

Total front end alignment, wheel bearings, and new ties ballanced by a proffessional not on a DIY wheel balancer. Also check to see if the drive shaft has thrown a weight. They are balanced with little metal washers welded to the shaft. An un balanced drive shaft can cause a lot of shake in the rear end.

Look man there are many vibrations that can make a car to vibrate as a whole.
1. When one or more of plugs are not firing or functioning.
2. Wheel alinement was not properly done.
3.Yokes,springs, Universal joints like you said and many more, therefore my advice to you is to go and see a auto machanics they will tell and find a solution to your problem.

While all of the above are possible, it is often as simple as damage tire. Check this first, it's the cheapest !

Your drive shaft may have become unbalanced, there may have been a balance weight come off or it may have hit something. I recommend taking it off and have it checked for balance.
