Egg whites are the clear kind of liquid, which kind of surrounds the yolk (the yellow part of the egg).

As for the acne treatment, I've heard of it, but wouldn't be using it. I use benzoyl peroxide instead. It kills the bacteria and helps get rid of my pimples. The fact that it's EGG, and isn't the most hygenic would make me wary.

If you do chose to try this, make sure you just use a cotton tip or something to apply it, then wash it off after a few hours.

Egg whites are:

Egg white

Albumen redirects here. You may be looking for albumin, a kind of protein.

Egg white is the common name for the clear liquid (also called albumin or glair/glaire) contained within an egg. It is the cytoplasm of the egg, which until fertilization is a single cell. It consists mainly of about 10% proteins dissolved in water. Its primary purpose is to protect the egg yolk and also to provide additional nutrition for the growth of the embryo, as it is rich in proteins and is of high nutritional value. Unlike the egg yolk, it contains little fat.

So, in other words, the proteins, vitamins, and minerals contained in an egg white would absorb into your skin and nourish it. Wikipedia also included a line that said whites are used in the clarification of soup broths, so laterally thinking, the contents of egg white must have some kind of clearing effect on oils.

You can try an egg white mask if you like or you can use Witch Hazel; it's an herbal astringent. Tea Tree oil also works well for on the spot acne treatment. But most importantly, drink plenty of water and eat healthy. Fruits and vegetables as well as plenty of fiber will maintain your body's equilibrium and flush toxins out of your system which, if stored in your body too long, will result in those little, yet seemingly huge facial annoyances! Best wishes.
