The book says "fiction" right on it, so that should tell you it is not. FICTION IS NOT TRUE!

No but its an extremely controversial subject since some of it is based on real historical evidence but it creates a historical fiction that people get obsessed over. Its really not that good actually read Angels and Demons its much bettter.
Also remember thatother books do exist! Don't just stick to Da vinci code and hop on the bandwagon just for hypes sake, reading is a great way to pass time, and gain knowledge. If I wasn't so busy with class and exams and such, I would be reading like crazy, I've fallen behind in the last year.

No, the novel is not based on a true story in the sense that the characters and events are entirely fictional, however, the theory behind the novel is a viable and living theory about the definition and origins of the Holy Grail. This theory has been around much longer than "DV Code" and will continue until there is some definitive evidence that Jesus was of divine origin or a literal chalice is found. Christians will tell you that the theory is entirely false and ridiculous, but the same could be said about the life and death of Jesus himself...

that's an city legend, as could be documented with a speedy visit to Snopes. For starters, the 7 years is far too long, because of the fact the freso substitute into painted in much less time than that: 'Documentary data shows he began "The final Supper" in 1495 and alter into finished with it by applying 1498. (on the outdoors, Da Vinci might had to have carried out his artwork by applying the top of 1499; that twelve months he fled Milan past to the invading French and did no longer return to the city till 1506.) different information presented listed right here are woefully incorrect as properly: we've not got any archives of whom Leonardo used as fashions for the figures in "The final Supper," yet he substitute into portray on a wall, easily from sketches, so in no case might he have had fashions sitting in a "studio" for "days" on an identical time as he "painted on canvas." 'This tale is in basic terms a Christian non secular allegory warning of the interior non secular decay (as exemplified by applying an outer actual decay) that awaits people who spurn Jesus Christ. As with many different examples of glurge, the author has housed his message interior a historic framework to lend it added impact, thereby reaching precisely the different of what he meant: readers now concentration on the literal fact of the allegory's information extremely than its message.' The Snopes get entry to is going directly to cite from a poem that tells the comparable fictional tale.

No, it's a fiction. But a lot of people believe it to be true. It's a pity because, their faith is not strong enough to withstand the continuous bashing of Christianity.
