I'm a waiter and I definitly say African-Americans are the worst tippers and gay people are the best tippers.

In my experience, doing in-home service, it has been the less fortunate being far better tippers than rich folks.

I am Canadian and the worst tippers were Europeans but it isn't traditional to tip in Europe and though this may be the nicest thing I have ever said about Americans they are generally good tippers although they make you miserable to get it. I haven't found that American's of African decent tip any differently then the white ones. Although I hat to be racial about it I have never gotten a tip from a Native, not they they are rude or anything, they jsut don't tip.

I am not a server but I have had many 'tips' in my employment.
The people who tip the best are the ones most happy with the service. Provide a good service and you get the better reward!!
Treat EVERYONE how you expect to treated yourself.
I have never been given money when when an old lady brings you in a cake that she has made herself to thank you for providing her with the service she deserved it makes it all worth while.

It's pretty stupid to generalize it. I was a server too and I experienced African-Americans that tipped more than generous and some tipped like s h i t. Some of my collegaues said that military people tipp very good. But you can't generalize it by the group. It's so different from person to person and of course how satisfying YOUR service is!!!
