How long does it take for the snail to crawl out the well?

it will depend on how far it slips down? if it slips down every night it will die... pooor pooor snail.

If it slips down 1 foot each night, it will basicaly travel 2 ft each day, and will take 15 days to get out of the well.
if it slips down 2 feet each night it will only travel 1 foot per 24-hour period, and will reach the edge of the well in 30 days! However, because it only getts to the edge, it will have to stop crawling at nightfall, and will slide back down 2 feet. so it won't actually be OUT of the well until the 31st day.
If he slides down 3 feet he isn't going anywhere unless he catches a ride in that bucket somone mentioned.
If he slips down any less than 3 feet, he will eventually get out.

given the life of the snail it would die before it ever reached the top. OR it could get caught in the bucket and ride to the surface later to be found in farmer Joe's glass of water. Poor slow stupid snail.

if it slides down 3 feet then it never does if it falls down 2 feet then it takes him 30 days if only 1 foot then it would take him 7 days
and yes I do have too much time on my hands

30 divided by (3feet minus the distance it slips down)= the time it takes
