The world has been violent since the dawn of man (and before). Survival of the fittest combined with evolution makes Humans a violent sort. Wars have gone on for ever. Genocide has been practiced since long ago.
It just seems that way because a Nuclear device is so potentially bad. WWII was horrible, you had to crawl over mounds of dead bodies on the front, to progress into a position to kill some more.
When will our species learn Love is the answer, Give peace a chance are not just cute songs.

Different kinds of people who once were separated by oceans are being brought together, and they usually don't mix very well. When you bring savages into a civilized country and pamper them with free money, they don't stop being savages; rather they learn that they now have a whole bunch of gullible, easy victims to prey on.
Racial mixing is merely the importation of savagery into civilized, heavily media covered areas. Not only are there more total acts of violence, there's also more reporting of violence. So the answer is "both" - the world has become more violent because of racial mixing, and it also "seems that way" because the fraction of the violence that gets into the media is larger now than it was 100 years ago.

I think that its getting more violent because of many different reasons, the world is overcrowding which amplifies differences (everything is on larger scale) and real time media coverage exposes it all. Its concerning many people that want a future, and have families etc. I think another question should be this; How In The World Do You Stop Violence ?
I don't know about you, but I want to live long and retire someday so do my love ones

The world had always been violent. WW!, WW2, The Roman Gladiators, Massacres of American Indians, the Civil War, Apartheid, The Crusade, and a lot more wars between countries, kings, systematical killing of natives, etc. Read your world history and you'll find, today is no better than before. The only difference now is we have weapons of mass destructions.

the media gives greater coverage to the 'few' incidents that happen that are quite extreme, in past they would have 'respected' their position in society and not reported in the way they did
so as media has 'loosenned' its morals, everyone is scared into thinking things are worse than they are and the more these incidents are reported the more likely they are to happen - so there may only have been 2 such incidents in first place but the next year there will 20 and so on
the world is not becoming more violent, but if things become violent the results are likely to be worse than they were

More violence is reaching you due to the "shrinking" of the world caused by improvement in information technologies. Used to be you had to read a newspaper to get news, now you can click on top stories on any number of websites and see pictures in vivid colors. Plus more people have video and digital cameras and blogs and can zip images across the world in seconds.
Also, the more people there are, the more incidents of violence there will be. If you have 8 murders in a city of 100,000, that's a lot different than 8 murders in a town of 100. The world's population is growing faster than ever. So you see, the number of incidents of violence can go up, but the overall violence rate could be lower.

i personally think that the world is becoming more violent as long as Bush is president.... i heard that he is sticking his nose into Iran's buisness and before it is all said and done i think that it is going to start another World War... so it would be WWIII and if that happens and Bush declares war then he is locked in until the war is over and that just sounds like something he would do, so he can be president longer.... i don't know about you but it seems that ever since Bush came into office the world and especially the US has had a very rough time....

The world has always been violent with people trying to be in power, it is just now and the last few years we have had it brought into our living rooms, via television and other media forms.
