Way back when.......When I wanted to learn how to play an instrument, all I wanted was to be heard. I had heard many bands play and could pick out one instrument that could always be heard well over the others, and that was the coronet(or trumpet depending on your preference). I really didn't care what others thought of me playing it. I just new that it was my instrumental voice. And, hoping to not sound conceited, I got really good at it and earned the respect of others for doing so well. So, if ya want to play an instrument because it looks attractive to others, well, that is your option. But if you want to give yourself an instrumental voice, then go with what is in your heart to play, and not what others may think of it. Good luck...
