Dieting (healthy) is good for everyone. Try maybe cutting back on your portions as well, many people go wrong there. As a person who struggles with their weight as well, I understand. See the thing is, even though you are athletic, your body gets use to a routine, so you need to change it up. Add something different besides your sports, like weight training or running a few days. Also, eat more healthy versus dieting. Unless you plan on never eating certain foods for the rest of your life, eating in smaller portions and more healthy is the best way to diet. Don't try those crash diets that make you count calories and fat cause they never last long. Stay away from diet pills too. They may give fast results, but they are short lived. And remember, you are still a kid, and you have time to grow out of it. Many people I know were cubby as kids, and by 16 they were knockouts. So dont stress about it too much now, you are too young. Just enjoy your childhood, you will never get it back. Good Luck!!

You have muscle but some flabby areas? I would think that you concentrate on working on isolating those areas. Dieting at your age is not a good idea. Stop eating the fast foods and go with vegetable, fruits, but don't leave out the meat products, because you need that for energy in order to be active in sports. Another thing is that people can be mean sometimes, especially at your age. You will easily believe what they say, because you want to be accepted by them so that easily influences your feelings of feeling fat. Be yourself, you have excellent qualities. Use them.

I think you're a good weight. Being 5'1" and 140lbs, is not overweight. Just remain active. Alot of girls feel they are fat, when in reality they aren't. You are in your perimeters for weight. Also, if you are into sports, and have muscle, muscle weighs more than fat. Just do what makes you feel good, but don't binge diet, just watch what you eat. Fried foods contain more fat than grilled or broiled food. Good Luck and be happy being you!

It is good to have a health diet but I think maybe you should try exercises that target the parts you what more muscle tone. It takes both eating right and exercise...you might use weights start with 2 or 3 pds. Hope this helps

unless you state your height and weight and then figure out your BMI- you should decide from that if you really need to diet. Maybe you need to talk with a nutritionist and find out what kinds of food are the right food for your body. Good luck!

Dieting is probably not a great idea. Talk with your doctor about your concern and maybe she/he can help you with ideas to trim down a little, if it is necessary. Also remember that skinny doesn't equal pretty and not being really skinny doesn't mean you aren't pretty.

That is a difficult question to answer, you should see a Dr. All I can say is at a size 12 I'm am skin and bones, people who only see my clothes, or hear of my size laugh at me made crude commits. see a Dr. is the best advice I have esp. for your age.

Many people just feel fat but they really are not... If your friends tell you that you're not fat, then don't go on a diet...
