So many reasons...so little time.
1. They never come in the right size. I swear a size A (small) in ladies pantyhose is about big enough for an 8yr old girl to wear.
2. They squeeze you like a boa constrictor. It's like you are being cut in half.
3. If you get the wrong size, you're stuck. It's not like you can take them back. Then you have to walk around all day with the crotch hanging about mid thigh.
4. It's hard to find the right color to match your skin tone and it's so uncool to see a woman with one color hands and another color legs.
5. They're hot and sticky and we are expected to wear them even when it's 110 degrees outside.
6. They will get a hole or run in them at the worst time. Like if you have to go before a crowd and speak or if you have to walk across a crowded room. And that tear is going to stand out like it's screaming "Look at me!"
7. They are such a waste of money. They are practically disposable but they can cost $2-6 for a pair for the cheap kind.
These are just some of the reasons women hate pantyhose. I hope this sheds a little light on the subject for you. Damn those people who thought that they were a good idea! Smile.

At one time they were in but like everything else, it's went right back out. But for many uncomfortable reasons. I agree with what was said already, they cut into your stomach, they always come up to your belly button or higher and when you sit down, they roll down. You can never get the right size so you have to constantly pull them up inch by inch on the legs. The seams on the feet show all the time. They rip easily. The color is always off, not matching your skin tone. They are just so not in style anymore

I like opaque tights - black ones - not panty hose. I prefer cotton or a light material, but in winter I like the thick cable knit kind or something with some substance.
Regular, normal panty hose are yucky colors, they run, you can see the toe line when you wear sandals, they roll up on your waist, they cut into your stomach... And they are usually made of synthetic fiber, so they make you really hot and sweaty.

Some women love em. Some women hate them. I suspect most of the 'hate' comes from two sources. One, bare legs are 'in' (blech) and two, I suspect most women wear the wrong size. Hosiery that is too small is very, very uncomfortable, the crotch heads for your knees immediately. I wear hosiery every day and enjoy it very much. I don't care if bare legs and flip flops are 'in' - I choose to look 'finished' with my hosiery and nice shoes.
