The fastest way is to place a link on a site which is visited frequently by the search engine bots. When they see this link they will follow it and discover your website. You can use directories to obtain the first few links http://www.seo-blog.com/directory-links.php

On no account use a submission service http://www.seo-blog.com/submission-software.php

If you want to be like most people you can use the 'submit your site' feature that every search engine has but no professional has used that method for years.

hi, for google you can submit your url to them directly. this service is free-of-charge. However, chances are they won't take a second look at your website because there are simply too many submissions every day. for yahoo, you are required to pay them a submission fee and there is NO guarantee that they will list your website. tough luck, huh? the best way to get a listing is to work hard on SEO and lure the search engine spiders to your websites. good luck!

I believe it has to do with links and how many key words you have that search engines use to retrieve their indexes. There are sites dedicated to optimizing your site by helping to pick the best key words to use. Good luck to you.

Build links for other sites to yours! I use an EZ program that finds good sites, send out an email invite to trade links and even builds the link pages.

Once you have other sites pointing at your site, rankings zoom up! I know, I did it and my Adsense income runs about $25 per day!

It takes time! But, it really works!
Also, check out the FREE website award program thru the second link below.
