oh man you are so wrong, but then every generation of youth has certainly thought they were a lot smarter, trendier and cool than those before it.
The truth is that education is LESS than it was even a decade or two ago. Few youth are growing up in solid and healthy families where the skills necessary to be successful are taught and values are learned.
Few of you know anything at all about money, except how to spend it and end up with lots of debt (your parents failed you on this one too).
Few understand the value of charity and giving unselfishly of one's self.
Some of your music is brilliant but most is just crap..oh yeah..that makes you pretty much like past generations.
You've grown so dependent on technology that fewer of you can spell or write a proper sentence, remember critical phone numbers, or balance a checkbook, let alone do complex math without a calculator. What's more you're so in the dark, you don't even know why you'd want to do these things.
Most of you know nothing about how to eat a healthy diet though quite a few of you understand the value of exercise, yet do not understand that exercise includes walking to the grocery store, school, etc. You want fast cars that crowd the roads and pollute the environment to go around the corner.
Few understand the importance of voting, yet will continue to complain about the government. In a few years you'll complain about taxes too, but still probably won't vote. If you do vote, you'll make your choices based on TV commercials and not really invest the time to make a quality choice.
You aren't smarter, you just have the usual ********* of youth and a LOT to learn!

Nope they are not better they just have better stuff. In the US i would say they are worse. In a lot of other countries this generation may be the best.
as for liberal. hmmm I love them if we pretend the world does not work the way it does everything will be better. Sure we can fund lots more programs without raising taxes. Everyone deserves food, shelter, and medical treatment whether they work or not. If no one works though who provides this? Oh ya that is why our country is so far in debt and getting worse. They are always wining that pay is to low and prices are two high. Well, you can't raise pay without lowering prices unless each person produces more stuff. Each person can't produce more stuff because the automation puts people out of work.
Go to a US factory and then go to a European factory of the same company that makes the same thing and you will see less then 1/4 the workers in the one in Europe. People int eh us say this means less jobs. really this means you can man 4 times the factories with the same people and make more profit. This means everyone gets more because everyone makes more.
Everyone ignores the fact that every year the US imports more then we export. This means as a whole the country spends more then it makes.
The current generation as a whole is greedy, lazy and uneducated. Germany graduates more engineers then the US every year and they are the size of 1 state. there is a reason the euro is kicking the dollar's butt and it is not the government.

No Way, man. I don't beleive that your assumptions are correct.
First off the money issue, if you've done your history homework money grows with economy and cost of living. If it goes up than you as an employer/employee you make more.
"Smart" - I would have to say that is too vague a question: do you mean computer, street, education? I say No. .
Trendy (Fashion) - every generation is trendy BUT if you knew what was hot 30 yrs ago you'd know that it has all come back.
Happenin - Too vague again but every gen thinks their the ones that were "Happenin".
So my cnclusion is that every generation feels that they'r the "ones" and there's no problem with that.
For me I was a child of the 70's and in my opinion we had a great generation, seeing what has been accomplished through the years up until now is remarkable. Every year was great, so far.

And I can't help but laugh at your analysis of older generations. You'll be the older generation someday. You have no idea what kind of lives we lived...you weren't there. It was a time of simplicity & a time when everyone in the neighborhood knew everyone else...a time when parents didn't have to worry so much about their kids . The kind of clothes we wore were the trend at the time...someday you'll look back & laugh at the things you wear now. The music had meaning back then...not like the noise that is created today. I handle today's technology just fine, thank you! As far as more money goes, who cares? Life happens & you may not wind up with as much money as you hope to have. You may be smart, liberal, trendy & cool now but trends change...obviously!

You are an ignorant child. You need to grow up and have respect for the past. And there is not a GenNext. Also, there are a lot of different "generations" living today. Generations span about 20 years. So someone in their early 20s, like myself, is generation Y....someone older would be generation X.
But seriously, grow up.

True that we have more technology but the past generations had the latest technology for their time as well and the dressed to the latest fashions and listened to the latest music. They also jumped at the chance to defend their country and looked death in the face in time of war. How many of our generation is willing to do that. Our children will look at us and wonder how we survived without the technology they have and laugh at our clothes and the type of music we listen to and will most likely be better educated and earn far more money than we do. So who is the greatest generation, probably the generation who turned this country around in the 2nd world war and created us.

If you are referring to the up and coming adults, the ones 24 and under, I am scared! At least in the US all I see are a bunch of whiny spoiled kids who don't want to work to earn a living and expect everything handed to them. The money thing, each new generation has more money then the last; the trendy thing, same thing; the smart thing, with each new generation there is more to learn and new advances. And liberal, well, I think that we put too much importance on classification. Just be who you are, no need to label yourself.

Generation today the best ever? Are you kidding?
We are breeding ruder, greedier and more arrogant people than ever before. We are now so reliant upon technology that we forget what is really important in the world.
Older generations may have dressed funny or listened to funny music but if you actually open your mind, most of that is coming back yet people today think it all brand new!
Older generations had morals and decency............ unfortunately they are becoming lost amongst todays poplulation.

What in the hell have GenNext people(lib's) like you done that is so great, most of you are fatter, lazy, live with mommy & daddy longer, weak, an think you are so great just because your here. The older gen. have worked harder, won wars so you can live your soft life. The good people of your gen. are the one's serving they country in some good way, instead of being cool& happening

I don't agree with you. I think the children born in the 1920's was the greatest generation. They had to fight in WWII, the boys seemed to be chivalrous, the girls were modest. Yeah, there children rebelled against them, hence the 60's generation, but they were decent people.
I seems like our generation doesn't know what to believe or think.
Just something to ponder, don't you think that 40 years from now the youth will be saying the samething about us?
