zidane aint no striker, he is an attacking midfielder. henry is the best striker and he was at least equal important for france. so my be france is the right answer.
if you count the goals, germany had the best strikers, but i think you have to consider that germany's strikers were not able to kill italy, although they had some opportunities. henry made a better job in his semi-final when he got a penalty.

Klose ... the German guy!!!

I thought Zidane only uses his "head" or doing penalty kick .. doesn't really count as the best striker.

It isn't Zidane because Zidane is a midfielder. I would say it would be Klose, Poldoski (GER) or Tenorio (ECU).

the names mentioned - deco, figo, c. ronaldo, kaka - they all play midfield, i think. i'm not sure about del piero 'cuz there's this commentator who said he's usually fielded not as a striker but a "deep lying forward", meaning he's neither striker nor midfielder but "playing a role", whatever that means.

anyway, my choice of best striker, probably klose bec. he scored the most goals in the WC, but overall, league plus int'ls, probably thierry henry or andriy shevchenko, so in answer to your Q, it's france or ukraine...can't believe i even mention ukraine, lol....

as an aside, some goals i remember from fifa players - mark viduka's vs. charlton in the FA Cup....mark plays for australia and that goal was brilliant; also joe cole (ENG) vs. sweden in the last WC...that one's a wow, and another one he scored v. real betis....pure genius. btw, he plays midfield so i'm off-topic, but you should see the ocassional goals he makes, they're something else. =)
