As far as rational thought you ideology is being the mother of terror your a bit off base. In fact the victims of these heinous people tended to have beliefs that were views threats to the state ideology.

Critical thinking, you ask? seems to me as far as critical thought about humanity, equality and liberty being ideals, atheists are poor examples to live by.. The islamo fascists have adopted and usurped their "religion" for a state cause as did Hitler..

It is sad to say religious strife does seem to have a role in the deaths of many people. But I counter to say ideologies kill or enslave more.

Kamakzis, suicide bombers, and crusaders aren't (or weren't) atheists. So, there is no logic in your question therefore a logical answer can't be provided.

Athiests are people who assert that there are no gods and those who make no claim about whether gods exist or not.

The suicide bombers in Iraq and in the middle east are Islamic. They have a religion and are being martyrs by killing themselves for the greater good.

During WWII, 84% of Japanese people professed to believe both Shinto (the indigenous religion of Japan) and Buddhism. Kamazkazis were amongst these people.

Crusaders (from a long time ago) were from Catholic Europe against Muslim Saracens in the Middle East. Therefore, their religions were christianity or islam. Crusaders today crusade for their religious purpose.

History is full of people who died for nonreligious ideals -- in suicide missions during wartime or in protecting the people they loved, for example. I think there are occasions on which one might rationally and purposefully decide to die for a cause.

there have been anarchist bombers in the previous WW1. i imagine a lot of them were atheists. i wager atheists haven't any desire of an afterlife so that they could could be upset with the help of existence to the point they couldn't care about themselves to do it. recommendations you i imagine atheists are as reliable as anybody at killing others. Robespierre + Commitee of Public safe practices, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, "Shining course" terrorists in Peru or Bolivia, Nepal communist terrorists. i could regard Hitler as an atheist .. he believed in Germany, a mundane idol, and led to thousands and thousands to die.

I don't know look at communist countries and the number of people killed there (Stalinist purges, Great Leap Forward, Cultural Revolution, Khmer Rouge, etc)
