I hope you saying "ears" doesn't mean both. Start with one, with guys it's usually the left.
Wait until your mom has the time to sit and seriously talk. Tell her what you want and why. Avoid phrases like "All the other kids have them", "It's the style", "I'll be the only one without one", etc...
You need to imply that you are making this decision on your own, not to fit in. You mom isn't responsible for all the other kids and your friends, so don't use them as an excuse. Offer to go just the two of you to get it done, than maybe some time together after. As embarrassed as you might be to be seen with your mom, it will go a long way if you spend a little time with her of your own free will. Most parents love the chance to spend some time with their kids. It will also give her the chance to be there with you so she is reassured that you are getting your ear pierced at a reputable place.
If you are getting it done with a gun, quicker and less painful way to do it, you have to choose a stud. Get a simple one like silver, gold, or diamond. Don't try anything too funky. A basic style is easier for her to accept than a skull or something, even though it may not look as cool.

Earrings dont loook good on guys........Believe me! They totally lose their guyish looks! I know coz i have heard loads of girls say that including me! Of course a few girls might like guys have their ears pierced but Count me out!
