I'd like to fade away quickly. Slowly is hard on the people who love you. Sudden is too fast to say goodbye, which is important. Put me somewhere in the middle.

It was once said in the 60's "its better to burn out than fade away"? I would have to say that what a long strange trip its been and i would much rather burn out (sudden disappearance) than fade away.

I like the sudden disappearance act. Slowly sounds too long and painful!

I think fade away slowly, because if you fade slowly everyone will very aware of your disappearance, they will be thinking about it and really miss you being there. If you disappear quickly, it would be like "we are missing something, but what?" No one would really notice that it was you they are missing.

If you mean from this Earthly plane, I hope to suddenly disappear. Either by just dropping dead (which means I was standing up not in a bed) or my fondest hope, I plan to drown in a ferocious hurricane (in the future). I live in an area that was very harshly dealt with by Hurricane Katrina and during the storm I realized there was no better way to go, but not yet. Many of our elderly chose to die rather than leave their homes and I understood that.

If you mean in life, I have always just suddenly disappeared when it came time to move on. No long goodbyes for me.
