I am not sure why there is racism on this site, but for sure it is every where around us, and you know what, i cried today about that. At my job a black man was accusing me for being a racist, and that shocked me deeply, cause i was trying to help this guy and out of nowhere he called me a racist. In my whole life i've seen us all as equalls, some of us poor and some rich, some very bright and some not so bright. Hell guys how are we going to stop this, cause i am sure as hell trying to be a good citizen and would really appreciate it if black people would stop blaming everything on racism. The wanted R.S.A to be a rainbow nation, now it is, they wanted to be in control and the are, what more do they want, my Identity, jeezz i wish for once some one would please get a DECENT definition of the word RACISM!!!!!!!!!!

I answered another question like this and this was my answer:

Define "Racist"? Because that word just gets banded around far too much.

The fact is allot of people use it as an excuse when they don't get their own way or disagree with someones views.

I bet there are a thousand and one things you don't like, but they probably don't have a special, political buzz word attached to them that people who disagree with you can throw at you and feel morally superior.

Slagging off a race of people based on the colour of their skin is "Racist" but saying you don't like the actions of a group like Muslims or saying that the ghetto culture of black people is a bad thing is NOT racist and is a valid, perfectly reasonable view. Its called free speech.

Now get off your pervertedly high horse and grow up.

It may be very dissapointing for you to learn but most British people are racist where Muslims are concerned. It is because everything in this country is now weighted towards Muslims. We are sick of being told what we can say and how we can behave in our own country. The Government adds to this with their weak approach to control of immigration.
I do not know anyone who likes Muslims but everyone I speak to has no problem with any people from other religions/race.

You feel that way because the true meaning of rascism has been so diluted in recent years that any form of discussion on the subject of race is seen as rascist, you fell for the propaganda.

It makes a mockery of true rascism such as black slaves etc...

What you find on Yahoo answers is the true feelings and opinions not watered down media spin.

in short it's accepted as a part of human nature - because close minded people fail to realize that everyone's s**t stinks and that as much as people think that where different were more a like then what some people would like to admit - the person inside defines the man/woman not the race of the man/woman. unfortunately a good portion of general society feels it acceptable to hate others - me, myself and, I find it unacceptable and try not to judge those individuals. because if you do then you also become a hate monger. can't we all get along?

I agree, and it happens because it's such an anonymous site, the hatemongers can spout off their insults and not have to fear being burnt at the stake for it. Just shows you the dropping level of morality of society, actually. It is sad indeed.

Several reasons.
Anonymity and shock value.
Actual ignorance. Fear of that which is different.
Low self-esteem and feeling the need to put down others to make themselves feel "better" than someone else.
Things they were "taught" but have never taken the time to see if they were actually true(99.99% of the time they aren't true).

because every1 has a different opinion on the way things work in this country!

not sayin its right, but its the unfairness and the complete surrender of inhibitions this government has layed down wich drives its society to think irationally and are confined to blame the source of the issue!

It isn't racism!!! People here couldn't give a flying monkey if you are black, purple, blue or whatever....what people are fed up with is some idiots who follow some belief that is dangerous for the rest of us. Other religious people are not blowing up innocent people, so why are these allowed to do that???? This is not racism, this is relisionism.

I think that the out and out racial comments are unwelcome - but if someone has a valid viewpoint which they back up I think thats fair. Remember its not only white people that can be racist.
