usually, sites quoting rates for room tariff are not exactly truthful.

I have usually been able to get significantly lower room rates on quoted tariffs in urban areas - with some exceptions like some special event taking place, increasing the demand.

On the other hand, there are some licensing issues that cause some places to advertise a low rate but charge mostly higher rates. this happens frequently in remote areas.

be sure to call and get commitments from the hotel at a particular rate!

My experience about all these sites quoting rates for room tariff is that they are never truthful.

I have always been able to get significant lower room tariff on all such quoted rates in urban areas - with rare exceptions like some event taking place in the city/area at that time so the rush//demand is there.

On the other side also, the tariff are quoted so low and the rooms are available at very high rates, reason being - to maintain their hotel licence conditions because of the subsidy and other allowances given by local governments to these hoteliers, they are supposed to offer certain rooms at such low rates - atleast on records but in reality they are never so. This is particular in hill and remote areas.
