How come you live in India and don't know the condition of Uttar Pradesh? I live in Melbourne and still I have a fair idea about Uttar Pradesh. Lawlessness, Crime, Corruption Scarcity of water, extreme poverty and (possible Gang wars) are some of the highlights of Uttar Pradesh. Ever heard the news, "Humans and animals (donkeys) fighting for water"? I believe its one of the most backward states of India although India itself is one of the worst countries in the world. I think you now know why. Population is not what makes a nation wealthy or good. Overpopulation is a sign of illiteracy. edit-Lol, I aint angry. I am just stating the facts. I come here to have a good laugh & sometimes p1ss off a few little Indians too.

Extrajudicial executions and custodial deaths have long been part of the Indian socio-political landscape. In the 1960s, the euphemism 'encounter killings' began to be used to describe extrajudicial killings because of the frequency with which officials would claim that the deceased had been killed in an 'encounter' with police. Calling these acts "custodial deaths" and "encounter deaths," masks the harsh reality of what happens at the ground level in Uttar Pradesh.
Police abuse of authority is so prevalent in Uttar Pradesh that the Allahabad High Court responded in outrage in a 2001 opinion:
Really not one of the best places in India., Take a look at Kerala , India, God's own country, it's lovely there, someday I want to live in kerala.

Female ifaticide is is more common in Punjab, Haryana and Rajsthan. In these states its highest.
As far as caste related politics , Bihar is worst . I do not think that conditions are much better in South. Cast based quota system was started in Tamilnadu and it was the first to use caste divison to get political success.
