Depends on what nation you are from. If you mean the US the way to getting into the CIA or NSA is to go to college. Excell there in a subject they watch for. You can send an app in on thier website, which wouldn't hurt.

What recruiters are looking for are strong academics, no associations with radical groups on right or left. Demonstrated ability in a desired area. These are almost all academic.

The spy movies depict a life that really hasn't been there in a long time. Spooks today are paper punchers and operatives are generally local informants. The CIA was all but disembowled because it was used against American citizens. The NSA however still does it's job unimpeded and many rumors of some rather nasty work against US citizens abound, but none with credible sources that I've personally heard of. The James Bonds type stunts ended in the 50s or 60s. "Private contractors" might still be engaged to accomplish such tasks. Getting into those means starting in some aspect of intelligence.

An alternate route is to join the military and show a complete lack of apptitude in the area of Military intelligence. If you join the army and can't drive they'll make you a truck driver. Join the army and can't see they'll make you a sharpshooter. If you can get into military intelligence and do well there you will have no difficulty getting into the CIA or private intelligence companies. To know what is desired by both simply look on thier websites.

Various government agencies such as FBI, CIA, NSA have websites. The CIA website is quite fun. Really, there are games to play etc. The NSA website says something like "we are not spies". Funny.
