Because that way you know everything is compatible with all of the other components.
Building a computer system from scratch is not suggested for the easily-frustrated or the faint of heart.
It can really be aggravating sometimes matching this video card to work with that USB interface and so forth. Drivers can be a headache also. Nobody deserves that kind of abuse.
For a beginner, absolutely... get the thing already assembled.

An assembled PC is a cheaper option. A branded one has associated with it the cost for building and maintaining the brand. Any local computer shop / market in India offers assembled one. But for this you should have some knowledge like what configuration you need and also should know how to check what configuration the seller has provided to you. I know one friend who bought an assembled one. All that he knew was GB and so the seller gave him a 40GB HD. He was shocked when I showed him that he was given a pentium-II processor. Service and warranty is also a headache for assembled. But if you want peace of mind, buy a branded one. The price premium has come down drastically over the years. The difference is may be 5000 or less now. For programming purpose you need a P-IV pc. Also go for a TFT monitor (15" at least).

Some people like to have a computer built exactly the way they want it. In other words, with a specific hard drive, a specific video card, etc.
If they bought all the parts then they would have to assemble it, or put it together, themselves.
But there are people who will assemble the computer for you. From them you buy an assembled computer.

an Assembled pc is cheaper for various reasons first, mass production of pc's, second unless the computer is very expensive, the parts in the computer will be really cheap and not customizable,or overclocking possible, and plus they nee to pay for all the employees so they have to cut costs. Now when you build a computer yourself you can customize it your self do what ever you want with the computer put whatever parts you wan't in it but beware you have to know how to build computers or at least under the supervision of someone who knows how to build them. With a computer you build yourslef you can run linux or c or on any computer as long as it supported.by the compuer

Wow.... unless you know to assemble a personal computer from start to finish - its a no-brainer that buying an assembled pc saves on time and energy to put it together but the operating system is a different story - that you need to purchase separately.

hey girl you seem to be quite confused bout the whole issue......
well first of all.....you look like an indian(i m too) so if you are in delhi......the best place is nehru palce to get a assembled comp or any other branded comp.......
meaning of assembled comp:
means you yourself can choose various hardwares of your computer so that you have the freedom to get the best material in cheapest prices. In branded, like HCL,Compaq: they have certain pre defined packages, outta which you are bounded to choose from
advantages of assembled comp.....
1. cheaper rates
2. you can choose different hardwares from different companies, as there is not a single company that is best in all type of hardwares.....
if you dont buy an assembled comp....you will be buying a branded comp...which is a bit costly
a comp is a comp....whatever you buy either branded or assembled...you can program in c/c++ over windows or linux....dont worry (cute question...lol)

Assemble pc are design according to customer requirement and budget. ofcoz, 100% upgrading option available can be fix by customer. onsite support available. 100 percent data recovered at reasonable cost.
where else in branded pc it is expensive and upgrading option is only 50-60 %. not design according to customer specification.
if any problem with pc only fix in service centre and changes of data and software loss. if warranty expires services charges are very expensive and u'vetake to service centre.
before buying or assembling pc just compare your spec and price with branded pcs

Its a duo middle processor and it has Vista, which i'm no longer extremely inspired with. The instantaneous card is roofed, yet in contrast to a pair different manufacturers, it additionally has dial up means for while your out interior the sticks and nonetheless prefer to maintain up along with your artwork. Its a count of non-public preferance, kinda like who you pick to date, it extremely is demanding and sophisticated looking the stunning one, yet once you have and its appearing properly, its properly easily worth the hassel.
