Well... that would be true if the helicopter remained static relative to it's location in space. However, as the world turns, so does the atmosphere that surrounds it. This is why the clouds that are overhead stay with us as we rotate. So, if the helicopter is to remain static to it's location in space then it would actually have to fly against the spinning atmosphere.
Hope this helps!

Just like when you're walking and throw a ball in the air you don't have to move to catch it... the helicopter AND the earth are both moving. In reality, the helicopter would drift a bit, but that's because of the mechanics of the helicopter, not it drifting away from earth.
good question.

technically if a helicopter is in the air it is not static, even in a hover. if it was hovering for 12 hours (fuel consumption would severely limit this) the gravitational pull of the Earth would pull the craft along with its rotation.

the helicopter stays from the same place where it took off bcoz the force of gravity is so great that when the earth moves around its own axis the helicopter hovering above although stationary will follow the movement of the earth

Well if it was over one place say Brighton for instance from 0600am to 0600pm,wouldn`t we still see it at the same spot?If the 12hours was from 6pm to 6am,it will still be in the same spot even the earth `s rotation won`t affect it since it`s in the air.

No. When the Earth rotates, everything in its atmosphere, including the atmosphere to some extent, rotates with it.

No, because it is still moving with the Earth turning.
