For my work, I need a cellphone with a built-in recorder that can record conversations (yes,I am very aware of all the legal angles).

The recording function must be easy to activate as I'm a bit of a klutz.

Nextel phones have built in voice recorders to record notes to yourself or phone conversations. I know the Nextel i730 and i760 have them (phones I do/have owned), but I'm sure all the new lines of Nextel have them.

Yes you can use the Sony Ericson K500i for this purpose and it is cheep and economical and would serve your purpose.

yeah heaps of phones have that options. i have a nokia 6235 and it records.
