In my 10 years of playing I've only seen one female player play a dwarven woman, mostly all of them play elves with 18 charisma, even when is not a required stat for their class.

First off, you're definitely attracting the wrong kind of women. Anyone who's smart knows that humans are the superior race for D&D because of the extra feat and skill points. =P
Second off, and probably related to the first, I'd suspect it's because these women were raised to believe that the only way they're worth anything is if they're pretty. If they're not pretty, then nobody wants them and they'll never get anything they want out of life. So they pick elves, which are listed in the PHB as being hauntingly beautiful to human eyes, and then crank up the statistic that's most easily related to physical attractiveness. And these girls probably did everything they could to be cute and flirty and leverage their looks for everything they were worth, didn't they?

My guess is that deep down, most chicks want to be gorgeous and charming. (Big shocker) I must say, however, that though I strive to be gorgeous and charming, I have never played a high elf. Dwarf, Kender, Gnome and even a "Reefer Elemental" named Doj, but never a high elf.

lol, i played that game once.. i was an ogre... name ugg... lol. cuz i was as short as i was all owed to eb adn as fat as i was allowed to be... soi was one UGLY ogre... lol
