I have always loved the civilization series-- different in that is is a management kind of game that can also teach you the history of the world.
Also a fan of Lego Star Wars. Brilliant idea to use lego figures and pieces to tell the star wars story.
I know that these games are popular, but they are different from the typical video game.

I know that everyone had probably heard of this one Everquest, but I can't find anything else that I like quite as well. It is addictive though.

mine is an online game called runescape. it is really fun and you can meet people online and explore the runescpe world. i found it on miniclip.com (or just search for runescape on google)
