Depending on type of vehicle, you may have CV or UV joints. I believe they would cause a clunking noise. It may also may be drive shaft clunking. Anyways, if you are sure it's a wheel bearing, here's what will happen. Once the bearing goes bad, it starts heating up, when it hits a high enough temperature, the bearings will actually sieze. When they do, your wheel will stop, no matter what speed. Now that you know, make your decision whether it is safe or not to drive from origin to destination. Then get it fixed asap.

in case you automobile is the front wheel force, that is likely no longer wheel bearings. Get a 2d opinion from a good brake save. they could fix both for lots decrease than the "stealership" will value for proper cost pads. appears like positioned on sensors on your brake pads. yet with out understanding information about your automobile it must be in hardship-free words a wager. at the same time as become your very last brake pad alternative, more effective than 20,000 miles in the past. In maximum autos brakes and wheel bearings are heavily suitable. making use of the brakes does change the load on the wheel bearings and ought to offer up them from making noise, yet many times wheel bearings do not unexpectedly fail between brake jobs on a properly-maintained automobile.

I would replace it As Soon As Possible! If you drive it to long with a wheel bearing going bad, it could possibly lock the wheel down and cause a serious accident.

Clunks usually mean CV joints - bearings usually make a loud howling sound that is there all the time the car is in motion.
But yes, replace it as soon as possible.
