I truly have a 2003 For Escort ZX2 with an particularly undesirable transmission. I had it rebuilt 3 circumstances and it nonetheless bumps between 1st and 2d. I recommend getting a clean transmission. i imagine Ford extremely f*d up at the same time as they made this motorcar. i'm searching ahead to a knew one which is for certain! reliable fulfillment!

How much are you willing to spend? Sometimes is more cost efficient to have it rebuilt. Are you pulling the transmission yourself? If not, your looking anywhere from $350 to $500 just to take it out and replace it. Add that to the cost of a used transmission and your usually up near where it would cost to have it rebuilt. I'm pretty sure you'd get a lot better warranty from rebuilt than a used transmission out of a junk yard.

Well hon,I hope you find one but from personal expierence a Ford Escort is a poorly built car and not worth spending a fortune on it.Take it from someone who knows,you might consider trading for a Chevy!!If not then try getting on a local radio station "swap shop" if you have one.We have one here(Va) called the Marketplace.I've bought and sold lots of things and found things I wanted.Good Luck .
