Yeah, ever since he implemented a warning system I’ve felt so very safe. Too bad it doesn’t go orange on category four hurricanes......might actually save some lives then. It is true, then, only goes off to help republicans get into office and show that they made something that works (and doesn’t blow up obscure nations in the Middle East!)
But seriously, what I really don’t understand is why republicans are so hard headed to believe that we are winning a war against terrorism (remember, terrorism is a strategy, not an entity.) We can’t travel nearly as free as we could before 9/11, we sent 140,000 Sailors, marines, and soldiers to Iraq, and we developed a warning system that really does nothing for us except create more fear. Let me enlighten you guys;
Terrorism - Definition:
The calculated use of violence (or threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear
Fear. If their goal is to instill fear, then this warning system only helps their cause. In fact, if looked at in the right light, you could even say those cave men won! since the 9/11 attack and the subsequent shock and awe campaign, we have rallied more to their extremist cause by showing the world america is the belligerent nation that Osama believed it was. Now thanks to Georgy, Wolfowitz's pet, the world is less safe for the west then it ever was.
*******THANKS FOR VOTING RED, MORONS*******

Since when does not approving of Bush make you a supporter of a certain faith or of terrorism? Do you honestly think it is ok for the government to search and monitor someone without a warrant? It is illegal for us to search a wanted criminal's house without a warrant and it is still against the law to do it to others. I am not suggesting that I am afraid the government spies on me. I have nothing to hide if I did. All I am saying is that if you can't search people here without a warrant, then why should you be able to do it elsewhere? It will just lead to less strict laws about searching people here at home. The president has also justified wire-tapping of US citizens without a warrant because there was a possible threat of terrorism. Read Fahrenheit 451 and 1984, those are the extremes of what we are dealing with.

You are an idiot....we have never had a code red, this is the first one ever.......and we have been in yellow since 9/11...and NY in orange since 9/11........the code red is because they were going to blow up planes this weekend, and if the British did not catch them all, they may still do it......and don't forget the 50 other plots that have been foiled since the 2004 elections.....and the raised alerts 10 times since then......

Republicans ruined our country and they are continuing to do it. They want a huge gap between the rich and the poor. They are trying to get rid of the middle class people. So there is only the greedy rich and the poor. They are already rich. How much more do they need? Bush probably knew about the recent terror attempt, just like he knew about 9/11. He is trying to get us scared just like before, so we can vote in another Republican for another four years of complete HELL. Don't listen to the propaganda.
VOTE A DEMOCRAT IN IF YOU KNOW WHAT IS BEST FOR THIS COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's just amazing the power that Bush has to coordinate conspiracies the world over, with the only aim being to make his friends rich and to keep his party in power. With him being so stupid and all, you'd think that he'd have a hard time getting the UK to arrest 19 people and charge them with a made up terrorist plot. Bush must be pretty persuasive, or maybe he bribed everyone in every European government to do his bidding.
Oh, wait, that was Saddam and the UN.
Nevermind.
The one thing that Bush has proved since he's been in office is that he does what he thinks is right for the country regardless of what the pollsters tell him is the 'mood' of the country. Want something different? Put up a candidate with ANY credibility and you might win. But your shrill left wing haters have a built-in self destruct mechanism. The people do not want them as their leaders. So good luck. Go dream up some more of your fantasies.

I couldn't agree more. This investigation has been going on since Dec of 2005 they could have busted this guys 6 months ago. Why would they let it get so close to the point where it could happen any day now. Plus they don't know if they got everyone involved. Wouldn't it have been less stress full to bust these guys 6 months ago and spend that time up till now trying to round these guys up. NOOOOOO, lets wait till the last min then the threat is magnified.

The end result of these "terror alerts" is to let the "terrorists" know when is the best time to attack, and to scare the people enough to blindly follow their war(mongering) President.
