Bullying to dominate a social group and to intimidate individual personalities.

Some people just get a kick out of the feeling of power and control, or from causing upset and pain. Its sick, but there it is. They do it because they like it.
Some people have never had the chance to learn good social skills and just need to learn more empathy, and how to get along with the rest of us.
And some feel that they'll never achieve anything, and imagine that when they put someone else down it proves how much better thay are to everyone else, not realising that they look like a jerk.

what is this crap being bandied about that bullies have low self esteem - what a pile of ostrich manure. This pish from lefty liberals says that someone who is manipulative, dominatory and has internal feelings of power has low confidence? My fat a r se! Bullies dominate because they can - when those that they dominate have poor self esteem and feel they cannot stand up to them.
In all animals, dominance is required for survival and humans are no different - a bully might be harbouring feelings of sadness that no-one really likes them, but thats the price you pay for wanting to be on top of the pile more than having friends. I dont feel sorry for them one whit.

The worst type of bullying is by the powerful countries against the weak. Look at the world now.

Superman Bush and his side kick Blair bestriding the world and deciding which country is to be subdivided or bombed into their version of democracy. Only it is difficult to recognize it when it is our country that does the bullying.

Unfortunately man has an incredible capacity for self deception.

bully feels himself in power when they act like this, it is because they feel so empty and powerless inside that they try to comensate their weakness with agressive behavior to the world outside,

they always have a kind of sense of who is a victim (often through body language)

Because they are insecure about themselves and feel they dont have anything of interest to gain ur attention.....so they'd rather just force it out of u....trying to hide their insecurities in the process.

You answered your own question, So they can get attention.
They feel for some reason that they need that attention.

Or they feel that they need to be in control, or have power.
