Do southern and northern folks from the United States still have an enmity between them because of the Civil war, or do they just shake their heads and think 'never again will I fight against my own peoples'?

I've really read up on this; what really bugs me is that it was all fought for money. Dirty rotten money. Though isn't everything? The rich get rich and the send us ordinary folks to war. Fcuk that.

YES they do. I am a relocated Northerner living in North Carolina. I have been here, working for the state since 1996 and at least once a day, without fail, I get some form of "Yankee go Home" remark. I have a New York Yankees logo on the front of my car and have been pulled over for such henious infractions as...
* Not haveing my dog in a seat belt
* Running a green light
* "suspected" insurance fraud
...among others. If I was a minority or gay (no disrepect intended here), some of the things that have been done and said to me here would have been considered a "hate crime".
The Civil War still rages on here in the South...only now its classified differently. you proabbaly know it better as "red and blue states"

There is some cultural emnity between some southerners and some northerners, but it is neither universal nor overtly due to the Civil War. Though I suppose there are some southerners whoo still lament the war and some northerners (myself included) who think Rebel Flags might as well be Al Qaida banners.

The cultural emnity is due to the differences between the regions. but it'd never lead to war again, for starters the political apparatus is no longer as state-based as it was in those days, the federal government is much stonger relative to states today than it was in 1860.

No, there is no animosity between the northrn part of the US and the southern part. That's the weird thing about the US. Just about everyone we've fought in the past is now our ally (Britian, Native Americans, Japan...). I wish other countries would forgive violence as quickly as we do.

Southerners do. and It seems yankees have a attitude against us also. It shows up in a lot of films , media and even politics where they portray southerners as stupid .Im glad you didnt fall for the claim that it was only about slaves. there is a lot of that going around too.

Nah. We're pretty much over it. Maybe some hillbillies from the south still have issues with the northerners, but for the most part, it's no deal.
