how I would know if someone is PMP certified?

some is saying that he got PMP certification , how I would know if he is telling the truth

PMI has a page that lets you search for the names of people who have received PMP certification. See the link below.

More directly, you could ask the person to show you his certificate.

Contact PMI at www.PMI.org someone should help you there provided you can provide the individuals membership number
