Why do so many people hate the United States?

Is because of drugs, prostitution, lying political people, crime don't all countries have that. The U.S. is a country that you have the choice to do anything you want. You can become the leader of it if you want. You can be a bum and live on the beach by the ocean. You can declare the gold fish as your God and start you own religion. I have personally been a wrestler, a policeman, an actor in L.A., a factory worker, a construction guy, a postal carrier. Wouldn't everyone want an opportunity to do anything and everything they want? I love people and think they should have every right to do everything they want

I believe that all of this freedom we have here in the States raise some eyebrows in other countries...other countries that are extremely tight in their religion. I also believe that since we are so diverse here, it's hard for people (strict in their faith) in other countries to believe that we have something concrete to offer to God, ourselves and other people. When I really sit down and think about it, we bash our neighbors about their religion. When I look at a country who only believes in one God, I start thinking, "What must they be thinking about us if we can't even get on the same page w/God." Who are we to think that we're sitting on top of the world when we can't even get it together in faith? I am a Christian, though...so I do believe that these are just tests.

People around the world hate the US because the US is a bully. The US has a long history of meddling in other countries affairs. The US put the shah in power in Iran, assasinated the leader of Argentina, overthrew the government in Honduras, supplied terrorists in Nicaragua, the list is endless. Despite what some very small minded fellow says, they do not hate the United States because of her freedoms.

People hate the United states coz US thinks to have power over anything and ever thing in the world. Drugs,Prostitutes,unworthy politician,crime are found even in the nook holes of the world. Its not of out jealousy they hate US but for the importance US gives ot other people lives. If and Only if US prevents war rather than stimulating , people will love US!

I'm from Singapore. Hey hey, we have very little drugs and prostitition, relatively fair politicians and even a very low crime rate. But then, I don't hate the United States at all, so....

I can only guess that some people may not like the foreign policy of the US and think your country is too powerful.

It is not because of the reasons you mention that the US are not liked around the world.
There are many countries where people can do aything and everything they want and where there´s drugs, crime, etc.

The US are ¨hated¨ because they are ¨the model¨ for many cultures now-- clothes, music, food, work ethic , etc. As a model, it will be liked and disliked by many people.

International politics are not helping either.

Sorry to break it to you but you do not have that many rights in the US. Do you have the freedom to say bad things about the government without censorship?
The US has very little culture or history, interest in other Countries, the history that you do have is biased and often incorrect.
Americans tend to be arrogant, loud and brash, unaccepting of other cultures, and not prepared to admit they may be wrong.

They also have an appalling, corrupt government who seems to think bombing everything will solve the problems of the world. It won't.

America is envied all over the world. Some of the hate is driven by America's superior position. Another is the fear that America will not act even handedly from a military point of view. America has a lot of responsibility to act like a role model and to treat its neighbors well while also pursuing self interest.

I think people living in USA hate most (country ratio wise) than any other country of world. But we (Indian) love United States as this is country with one of the best economy and inftrastructure.

well lets take a look at the first people we met, the indians. you know what happened to them. then we set out around the world to beat countries out of their commodities and goods leaving their economies in shambles. as fast as we could go. we went. even the 50th state, hawaii. we beat those people out of their land too. they did not want to join us so we changed laws here so we could take their land. the united states government has been a hoard of crooks and theives from day one and has backed companies that were crooks and theives. i could go on for a very long time telling you why people do not like us but you will need to study real history books to find out all of the bad things we have done to people around the world. many of them have very good reasons to hate us.
